FOUR DEAD, ANIMALS CROPS DESTROYED IN KAPCHORWA MUNICIPAL
Tragedy struck Kapchorwa with mudslides hitting Kapsomo cell, Kutung ward, West Division Kapchorwa municipality claiming the lives of four people.
The mudslides occurred around last night during a heavy downpour that started at 0900pm. The incident has left Left leaders and residents calling for aid from the government and Uganda Red Cross Society.
This isn't an isolated incident; the Sebei subregion, where Kapchorwa is located, is prone to landslides due to its mountainous terrain. Just two days ago landslides in Kween districts resulted in the deaths of at least four people two children, mother and father from Tuikat Sub county and lower belts flooding destroying animals and crops. Other slides in Bukwo also occurred last night but found people had migrated destroying animals and crops.
